This problem has been reported to occur when Outlook 2000 (CW) is configured with the MS Mail service, and is not set as the default Microsoft Windows mail client. this method only apply if you have installed Outlook with the Corporate or Workgroup option. With this option, you can use Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) services. To determine your installation type, click About Microsoft Outlook on the Help menu. If you have the Corporate or Workgroup installation, you see "Corporate or Workgroup".
If you use the Microsoft Word Send To command, you may receive the following error message:

Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client.
To resolve this problems go through
Quit all mail-aware programs. This includes all Microsoft Office programs and e-mail clients. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.0 or later, and follow these steps to set Outlook as your default e-mail program:
1. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
2. On the Programs tab, in the E-mail list, click to select Microsoft Outlook. Do not click Outlook Express.
3. Click OK.
